1. Who we are

Gentech Solutions TZ ("Gentech", "we", "us") is an IT and software company based in Dodoma, Tanzania. We build and operate software systems — including POS, hotel management, school ERP and microfinance systems — and provide websites, mobile applications and digital services to businesses across Tanzania. 2. The data we collect

• Contact details you give us — name, phone number, email address and business name, when you book a demo, fill a contact form or message us on WhatsApp.
• Usage data — pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected through analytics cookies when you browse this website.
• Client system data — if you are a Gentech client, the data processed inside your system (e.g. sales records, student records, loan records) belongs to you. We access it only to provide support and maintenance you request.

3. How we use it

• To respond to enquiries and demo bookings.
• To provide, support and improve our software and services.
• To send service communication about your account or project.
• To understand how our website is used so we can improve it.
• With your consent, to send occasional updates about our products. You can opt out at any time.

4. Legal basis and compliance

We process personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 (Tanzania) and its regulations. We collect only what we need, use it for the purpose we stated when collecting it, and do not sell personal data to anyone.

5. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us operate — such as web hosting, form delivery and analytics providers — and only what is necessary. If you contact us via WhatsApp, your messages are handled under WhatsApp's own privacy policy. We may disclose data where required by law or a competent authority in Tanzania.

6. Cookies and analytics

This website uses analytics cookies (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager) to measure visits and improve the site. These cookies do not identify you personally to us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the website will keep working.

7. Data security and retention

We protect data with access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limited staff access. We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to serve you, and client system data for the duration of the service agreement plus any period required by law.

8. Your rights

Under the Personal Data Protection Act you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email info@gentechsolutions.co.tz. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) of Tanzania.
